Rematriating Relatives
Reconnection & Restoration
30 million buffalo once roamed this continent—not as species, livestock, or even wildlife, but as matriarchs, loved ones, family. We seek to remember and rekindle that way of living, honoring and protecting the sacred relationships that hold us all as connected beings. Much of this work is grounded in our partnership with Blackfoot leaders and their visionary efforts to return Iinnii to their homelands.

ART & Story
HealINg FROM THE HEART
Art-making and storytelling are the practices through which we channel truth and beauty, navigate grief and pain, and explore what connects us all. They are the lifeblood of social change. Through story-kept traditions and art-sown inspirations, we can remember and re-learn to live by fierce love and reciprocity.

SUPPORTING Native YOUTH
Camps & Career Development
We recognize, uplift, and empower the critical leadership of young people in building the Indigenous-led movement. From scholarships and camps to internships and leadership positions, seven-generation thinking informs all we do. The youth are our future.

Honoring RELATIONSHIPS
Policy & Diplomacy
We collaborate with a sacred constellation of relationships and partnerships to bridge all divides and boundaries to develop the amplified political power needed to return our relatives and their homelands, and catalyze the emergence of an Indigenous-led conservation movement.

Science & Scholarship
BRAIDING KNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS
Both Indigenous and Western science inform our conservation strategies. We work to better understand both our relatives and the Indigenous lifeways that have long stewarded healthy ecosystems in order to live in more respectful, reciprocal relationships with the lands that hold us.
